If you are having problems damaging tools due to, stuck parts, failed ejection, short shots, failed insert loading or other problems damaging the tool. Most injection molding machines utilize a low pressure close system to protect the mold from damage, let’s face facts, the minute a tool closes on a part or insert you are liable to damage it. Our system inspects the mold before it closes for either, part presence, part absence, insert loading, or all three. Using vision technology, we are able to stop the press from even beginning to close and prevent a cycle from taking place until the mold is cleared of any problems. Imagine the down time saved and repair costs eliminated due to tool damage. This system is very compact and capable of being installed and interfaced on almost ANY injection molding machine. When we designed the new Mold Monitoring system, we had the operators in mind. We minimized the need to program by making the interface a simple point and click setup. Easy to set up tolerances that cater to the needs of your rejection standards. Window configuration is easy to setup, with just dragging and resizing. There are up to 16 configurable windows that you can activate or deactivate (more upon request). The complete program setup process takes about 10 minutes and after the setup is complete, the job can be saved onto the camera and PC for backup and future reference. Startup is easy, simply turn the power on, wait for the camera to boot and then start the machine. The camera automatically loads the program you specify and puts it online as soon as the camera is turned on. Our pattern find function is able to locate the area needed to be inspected anywhere in the field of view, location is instant and is very forgiving with inconsistent clamp positions.
This system is used for many Mold Monitoring applications including: Insert Molding, Short Shots, Presence or Absence, Runner presence or absence and before and after shot inspections. Many other applications are possible please contact us with your needs.
We designed our system to be lightweight and compact for easy maneuverability, so press changes or mold changes are hassle free with minimal time to setup. Our camera has an integrated high frequency LED strobe light so light position and setup is minimal or none and eliminates problems with bulky light location and movement.
